Starting material

Exo-FACS contains reagents and antibodies for 20 reaction. Exosome standards must be reconstituted in 100 µl of deionized water. Beads are ready to use for exosome capture. Primary and secondary antibody must be appropriately diluted in sample buffer.

Assay type

Kit allows fast and easy detection of exosomal markers in a set of purified exosomes (choosen by customer) via FACS. Kit provides a proprietary antibody against a common exosomal marker as positive contro.

Product overview

HBM provides a ready to use kit for a qualitative FACS analysis of exosomes. Exo-FACS assay for exosomes characterization consists of 4µm beads used for the direct overall capture of pre-purified, validated and lyophilized exosomes from cell culture supernatants or human biological fluids. The characterization of exosomal proteins (membrane expressed or internal) is subsequently performed by using appropriate detection antibodies against exosomes associated antigens. Exo-FACS could be custom made through HBM available antibodies.


Primary antibody for exosome marker detection as positive control (40 ul). Anti-CD9.

Secondary antibody Alexa 488, 20 µl.

Exosome standard

1 vial (100 µg) of HBM-exosome standards (lyophilized), from human serum (number of particles/ml 1x1010).

Sample buffer

Buffer for antibody incubation.

All the reagents are shipped at 4°C and storage conditions as recommended in the product insert.

Application :

Exosome capture and quantification using the ExoTEST ensures dose-dependent exosome detection in a variety of samples. The quantification can be both relative and absolute as the assay calibration enables the calculation of the approximate exosome quantity for each sample.

Comprehensive exosome profiling by implementing different combinations of capture and detection antibodies. ExoTEST can be customized for assessing multiple antigens in a total exosome population within a sample. Informative protein profiles for the samples of interest can be combined with subsequent nucleic acid (mRNA or miRNA) extraction and downstream analysis from captured exosomes.

Specific diagnostic applications using the ExoTEST allows the quantitative assessment of total circulating exosomes and specific exosomal sub-populations, defined by differentially expressed antigens under normal and pathological conditions.
